Colombia | Huila - Claudia Samboni - Las Nubes | Pink Bourbon (Washed / 200-hour Anaerobic Process)
The long awaited return of our summer-time artist collaboration is back!
solar flare is a limited summer release built around an anaerobic processed micro-lot from the rising coffee farmer, Claudia Samboni of Finca Las Nubes in Huila, Colombia.
This coffee is expressive, fruit-forward, and beautifully floral, with tasting notes of watermelon, grapefruit, orange zest, and rosewater. It's 200-hour anaerobic process after the coffee was washed brings clearer sweetness, body, and a bright citrus and fruit flavor profile that feels perfectly suited for summer.
For this release, we paired Claudia’s work as a female coffee producer with artwork from Boise artist Joelle Ater, creating an intercontinental women's collaboration that highlights the strength, creativity, and care behind both the coffee and the artwork.
About the Artist: Joelle Ater is the artist behind Feel The Fire, the original painting created specifically for this release. Joelle etched, “Feel the fire, you are known” into the painting while reflecting on the name Solar Flare and the connection to Claudia as the the woman who has produced this incredibly unique coffee.
The piece represents the life-giving power of the sun and serves as a reminder to the starting point in our day-to-day, and also honoring the feminine strength that creates and sustains life.
