We’re a small team brought together by a love of coffee, a belief in education, and the connections that happen along the way.
From roasting and production to design, education, and community, each of us brings something different to the table.
Austin Demeter
Founder / Roaster / Educator
Before Epiphany, there was a classroom. Austin taught inner-city social studies in Minneapolis while pursuing his masters in education. That background still shapes Epiphany’s name, light bulb symbol, and belief that coffee should teach.
An award-winning roaster with 10 years of specialty coffee roasting and barista experience, Austin got his start as a production and outreach associate at Backstory Coffee in St. Paul, Minnesota. Being part of those early startup stages helped shape the way he approaches Epiphany today.
He competed in the U.S. Coffee Championships’ Cup Tasters competition in 2018 and judged Brewers Cup in 2019 and 2022. Helping talented coffee professionals take their next step toward the world stage inspired him to bring those experiences to Boise.
Outside of coffee, Austin is a second-generation Greek-American, a goalkeeper for the Boise Panthers, a pianist, a stargazer and sunset chaser, and cat dad to Magnus and Rocco.
A quote that continues to inspire him comes from John Dewey: “Every great advance in humanity has issued from a new audacity of imagination.”
Megan Blazinski
Consumer Engagement & Coffee Education Manager
Megan helps people feel connected to Epiphany through social media, digital engagement, coffee education, and thoughtful communication. She creates educational resources and training that make specialty coffee approachable and give curiosity a place to grow.
She also contributes to Epiphany’s design and visual storytelling, helping bring our ideas to life across social media, educational materials, and other customer-facing content. Her approach connects thoughtful visuals with approachable language, so the way Epiphany looks and feels reflects the care behind the coffee.
Based in the Minneapolis area, she brings six years of coffee experience and a deep appreciation for the community coffee can create.
She’s happiest making coffee for others, loves handwritten notes, and is usually seen with flowers nearby.
Her motto, “Be afraid and do it anyway.” reflects the way she approaches creativity, new ideas, and connection.
Jacen Fruits
Production Associate
Jacen brings care, consistency, and a good-vibes approach to Epiphany’s production team. With three years in coffee, he pairs a strong work ethic with a love for the little moments.
He helps with the hands-on work that gets our coffee ready to share, from packaging and preparing orders to deliveries and events. Jacen brings care to the behind-the-scenes details, helping keep things moving and making sure each bag is ready for its next stop.
Outside of work, he loves being in the mountains and believes in living life to the fullest. And yes, he’s named after a Star Wars character.
