our story

Our story

Boise, Idaho • Est. 2021

coffee is a source
of inspiration.

A good cup can introduce a new idea, bring people together, or change the way you see something familiar. That possibility is where Epiphany began.

01 / An idea worth following

A teacher’s curiosity.
A roaster’s care.

Epiphany Coffee was founded by Austin Demeter in 2021 with a simple but lasting vision: to roast coffee that inspires, teaches, and creates realizations.

Before Epiphany, Austin worked in specialty coffee and taught social studies in Minneapolis. His background in education still shapes how we share coffee: with curiosity, an open invitation to ask questions, and the belief that there is always something more to discover.

coffee can spark an epiphany.

Our name, our light bulb, and the coffee itself all point back to that idea.

02 / Care you can taste

Good coffee.
Shared recognition.

At the 2026 Global Coffee Awards, US & Canada, six of our entries earned recognition across filter, espresso, and flat white categories. Each one carries the work of the people who grew it and the care we bring to roasting it.

A story still growing. This follows Electrify’s recognition at the 2025 Global Coffee Awards. We’re proud of these milestones, and even more grateful for the producers, partners, and community who make this work possible.

03 / Connected at origin

Every coffee starts
with someone.

Long before a coffee reaches our roaster, someone has made countless decisions about growing, harvesting, and processing it. We want those people and their work to be part of the story you take home.

In El Salvador, our relationship with Café de Don Justo connects us with the Pacamara Honey and Geisha Natural coffees in our Vibrant Series. Together, those two coffees earned four of our six recognitions in 2026.

In Huila, Colombia, Claudia Samboni’s Pink Bourbon from Finca Las Nubes became Solar Flare. Her 200-hour anaerobic washed process is part of what makes that coffee so expressive.

04 / Creativity worth sharing

Art belongs
at the coffee table.

Since our first year, seasonal coffees have brought local artists into the story through original label artwork. Every collaboration gives us a chance to share another person’s imagination with our community.

10%

goes back to the featured artist.

For Solar Flare, Boise artist Joelle Ater created Feel The Fire. It’s one more way a bag of coffee can connect the work of a producer, a roaster, and an artist.

05 / A little more curious

You don’t have to know it all
to enjoy a great cup.

Coffee education is part of who we are. We love the moment a tasting note clicks, a brewing adjustment makes sense, or a familiar morning routine becomes something worth paying attention to.

Through conversations, educational resources, and the coffees we share, we want to help people feel comfortable asking questions and confident exploring what they enjoy. That includes someone brewing at home and a future café owner finding the right coffee to serve.
